Real ID is a federally recognized document that can be used as an official ID for air travel and in government institutions, while a State ID is merely a state-issued identification with limited functions. You can differentiate a Real ID from a regular State ID (or standard driver's license) by its appearance:

Real ID

- There is usually a star (★) in the upper right corner.

- In some states, this may be a gold or black star, sometimes inside a circle.

- If you see this mark, it means the document meets federal requirements.

State ID / Standard License

- It does not have a star.

- Instead, it often has the following text: “Not for Federal Identification” or “Federal Limits Apply.”

Objective: The purpose of this study is to collect sample images of driver’s licenses in order to train and improve document recognition technology developed by Regula Forensics Inc. This technology helps automate the detection and verification of identity documents using artificial intelligence.

Task: Participants will be asked to scan a driver’s license to evaluate the system’s functionality. The goal is to evaluate how well the system detects and processes document data under various conditions (image quality, lighting, layout, etc.).

Task Completion:

  1. After clicking the link to the task, you will be shown the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, where you can thoroughly review all details regarding data processing and storage by Regula Forensics Inc. To proceed with the task, you will need to agree to these policies.
  2. After that, an interface will open, prompting you to scan your driver's license and rotate it in different directions as required by the application.
  3. If everything is completed successfully or if there are any inaccuracies, the interface will notify you accordingly.
  4. Once everything is done, you will see a message with contact information for any questions you may have (make sure to note or copy it before completing the task). For any questions regarding the processing of your task, feel free to contact the provided contacts directly.
  5. To finalize the task, you will need to complete it on Microworkers. A confirmation code for participation will not be provided. After scanning your driver's license, we will obtain your Microworkers ID and register you in our system for payment.
  6. To complete the task, you need to return to Connect. After completing the task, you will be given a completion code, which you need to copy and paste to finalize the task on the platform. After that, the task will be considered completed, and you will need to wait for review.
